Mano KihikihiEver since 1989 Ho’okipa beach in Maui has been the mecca for windsurfing. The offshore coral reefs catch the winter swells creating impressive ten foot waves. This combined with the constant side shore winds make it the ideal place if you live your life for windsurfing, though underneath the huge waves and beautiful glass-like water lies a dark and dangerous threat, known to the locals as the ‘mano kihikihi’. One mention of this word and the water suddenly becomes empty.
